The Underplayed app
The in-house publishing tool behind underplayedgames.com, an indie game discovery channel that features hidden-gem Steam games in daily short videos on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok (@underplayedgames everywhere).
What the app does
- Publishes our videos to our own channels. When an episode is finished and approved, the app uploads it to our own YouTube channel (and our Instagram and TikTok accounts) on our daily schedule.
- Reads our own statistics. It collects view counts, likes, comments and audience-retention analytics for the videos on our own channel, and compiles them into a private weekly report that tells us which hidden gems connected with viewers.
- Files our renders. Finished video files are saved to our own Google Drive folder as a backup of each episode.
Who uses it
Only us. The app is operated by the owner of the Underplayed channels and authorizes only our own accounts. It is not distributed, sold, or offered to anyone else, and it has no other users.
Your data
The app touches no one's data but our own: our videos, our channel's statistics, our Drive folder. It collects nothing about viewers or any third party. Use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data received from the TikTok API is handled the same way: our own videos and our own statistics, stored privately, shared with no one. Details in our privacy policy.
